SLASHPLAY runs on tokens. One token costs one cent ($0.01). A server spends a few tokens for every hour it is live, starting at 3 tokens an hour for the smallest size, and nothing while it is stopped apart from a tiny charge for its saved files. There is no subscription and no plan: you buy tokens when you want them, they never expire, and a boot that fails costs nothing.
Where your money goes
Tokens move in one direction:
- You buy tokens with a card through Stripe, from $1 (100 tokens). They land in your personal wallet. Redeem codes from giveaways land there too.
- You move tokens into a team. Servers belong to teams, and each team has its own balance. Your personal team is funded with 6 starter tokens when you sign up. See Fund a team.
- The team’s servers spend them while they run, plus 1 token per GB per month for stored saves.
Your wallet never pays for a server directly, so tokens you keep there are safe from a server someone forgot to stop.
Where to start
- New here? How tokens work explains the hourly price for every size, how you’re billed to the second, and what a typical evening or month costs.
- Ready to top up? Buy tokens walks through the Wallet tab and Stripe Checkout.
- Got a code? Redeem a code.
- Seeing small charges while servers are off? That’s storage.
- Server stopped on its own? Automatic stops lists every reason and how to avoid surprises.
