Questions
How do I run CS:S commands on my server?
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/cfg/server.cfg.
How do I use client commands in CS:S?
Type it in your own game console: turn on the developer console in the game's settings, then press the key under Esc. To keep it, put the line in cstrike/cfg/autoexec.cfg.
How do I keep a setting after a restart?
Settings typed in the console last until the server restarts. Put them in cstrike/cfg/server.cfg, one per line, and they apply every time the server starts.
What is the difference between server and client commands?
Server commands change the server for everyone and are run in the server console or over RCON. Client commands change your own game, like your crosshair or viewmodel, and are typed in your game console. Entries marked both exist in both places.
Where does this list come from?
It is the game's own list: cvarlist on a SLASHPLAY CS:S server, plus the client list on the Valve Developer Community. The descriptions and examples on the written pages are by SLASHPLAY.
