How to set a login token on a CS:S server

Add sv_setsteamaccount <token> to server.cfg or the launch options, with a token made for app 240 on Steam's game server page.

sv_setsteamaccount

Logs the server into a persistent Steam game server account using a login token.

sv_setsteamaccount <token>

Examples

sv_setsteamaccount ABCDEF0123456789

Set the login token.

Arguments

tokenRequired
Game server login token.

What it does

Create the token on Steam's game server account management page for app 240 and add this line to server.cfg or the launch options. It gives the server a stable identity.

The game's own description: token Set game server account token to use for logging in to a persistent game server account

Good to know

  • Keep the token private.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS:S server first.
