How to set the number of bots in CS:S

Type bot_quota 10 in the server console and the server keeps 10 bots in the game. bot_quota 0 removes them all.

bot_quota

Sets how many bots the server keeps in the game.

bot_quota <count>

Examples

bot_quota 10

Keep 10 bots on the server.

bot_quota 0

No bots.

Arguments

countRequired
Number of bots to keep.

What it does

The server adds or kicks bots to match this number. How it counts depends on bot_quota_mode: in fill mode bots leave as humans join so the total stays at the quota. Set 0 to remove all bots.

The game's own description: Determines the total number of bots in the game.

Good to know

  • Kicking bots with bot_kick also lowers the quota.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS:S server first.
