How to simulate lag in CS:S

With sv_cheats 1 on, type net_fakelag 100 in the console to add 100 ms of fake lag. net_fakelag 0 removes it.

net_fakelag

Adds the given amount of artificial lag in milliseconds to all incoming data.

net_fakelag <milliseconds>

Examples

net_fakelag 100

Simulate 100 ms extra ping.

Extra delay.

What it does

A testing tool to see how the game or a plugin behaves for high ping players.

The game's own description: Lag all incoming network data (including loopback) by this many milliseconds.

Good to know

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS:S server first.
