How to change start money in CS:S

Type mp_startmoney 16000 in the server console so everyone starts with $16000 from the next restart or map. The default is 800.

mp_startmoney

Sets how much money, in dollars, each player gets at the start of a game or after a restart.

mp_startmoney <dollars>

Examples

mp_startmoney 800

Standard pistol round money.

mp_startmoney 16000

Full money for fun servers.

Arguments

dollarsRequired
Starting money in dollars.

What it does

This is the cash players spawn with on the first round and after mp_restartgame. Classic competitive play uses 800, while fun or retake servers often give 16000 so everyone can buy anything.

The game's own description: amount of money each player gets when they reset

Good to know

  • Players who join mid game also receive this amount.
  • 16000 is the most money a player can hold in Counter-Strike: Source.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS:S server first.
