How to hide enemy names in CS:S

Type mp_playerid 1 in the server console so aiming at someone only shows teammates' names. 2 hides all names.

mp_playerid

Controls which player names appear when you aim at someone.

mp_playerid <mode>

Examples

mp_playerid 1

Show only teammate names.

Values

ValueWhat it does
0Default Show all names
1 Show teammate names only
2 Show no names

Arguments

modeRequired
0 all names, 1 team names only, 2 no names.

What it does

With 0 you see names of teammates and enemies, 1 shows only teammates, and 2 shows no names at all. Matches often use 1 so the name tag cannot reveal enemies.

The game's own description: Controls what information player see in the status bar: 0 all names; 1 team names; 2 no names

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS:S server first.
