How to ban a player on a CS:S server

Type banid 0 STEAM_0:1:12345678 kick in the server console to ban and kick that Steam ID for good, then writeid to save it.

banid

Bans a player by userid or Steam ID for a number of minutes, 0 for permanent.

banid <minutes> <userid|steamid> [kick]

Examples

banid 0 STEAM_0:1:12345678 kick

Permanent ban and kick.

banid 60 7

Ban userid 7 for one hour.

Arguments

minutesRequired
Ban length, 0 for permanent.
useridRequired
Userid or Steam ID.
kickOptional
Also kick the player now.

What it does

Add kick at the end to remove them now. Run writeid afterwards to save permanent bans to banned_user.cfg.

The game's own description: Add a user ID to the ban list.

Good to know

  • Bans are lost on restart unless you run writeid.
