How to test your mic in CS:S

Type voice_loopback 1 in your game console, hold your voice key and you hear yourself. Set it back to 0 afterwards.

Use it in your game

Type it in your own game console: turn on the developer console in the game's settings, then press the key under Esc. To keep it, put the line in cstrike/cfg/autoexec.cfg.
