How to bind a key in CS:S
Type bind f "impulse 100" in your game console and pressing F runs that command. Put several commands in quotes, split by semicolons.
bind
Assigns a command to a key, so pressing the key runs it.
bind <key> "<command>" Examples
bind f "impulse 100" Flashlight on F.
bind mwheeldown +jump Jump with the mouse wheel.
bind F8 "net_graph 1; cl_showfps 1" Several commands on one key.
Arguments
keyRequired- Key name, for example f, mouse4 or kp_end.
commandRequired- Command or commands to run.
What it does
Wrap multiple commands in quotes and separate them with semicolons. Binds are saved to config.cfg, or put them in autoexec.cfg to keep them under your control.
The game's own description: Bind a key.
Good to know
- Run
bind <key>alone to see what a key does.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS:S server first.
