How to turn off HDR in CS:S
Type mat_hdr_level 0 in your game console to turn HDR off, which can raise FPS. mat_hdr_level 2 is full HDR.

Sets the HDR lighting level: off, LDR with bloom, or full HDR.

What it does
Turning HDR off can raise FPS and make some maps look flatter but clearer.
The game's own description: Set to 0 for no HDR, 1 for LDR+bloom on HDR maps, and 2 for full HDR on HDR maps.
