SLASHPLAY V2 Is Here

The rebuild we promised is done. SLASHPLAY V2 brings a full web dashboard, token-based pay-as-you-go pricing from $0.03/hour, teams with shared wallets, and more games — built to be more stable, more affordable, and more honest.

SLASHPLAY V2 Is Here

SLASHPLAY V2 Is Here

A few months ago we told you we were tearing SLASHPLAY down to the studs and rebuilding it — not because we were giving up, but because we refused to. We said the next version would be more stable, more affordable, and more honest, and that we’d show it when it was ready.

It’s ready.

/play still works exactly like you remember: type it in Discord, pick a game, and you’re in. That part was never broken, so we didn’t touch it. Everything around it is new.

Here’s what changed, measured against the three promises we made.

More Stable: Rebuilt From the Ground Up

The old SLASHPLAY ran on infrastructure we were constantly patching to keep alive. V2 runs on a new orchestrator we wrote from scratch — dedicated nodes that spin your server up in under 30 seconds, hand it off cleanly, and tear it down when you’re done.

Each game server now runs in its own locked-down container with its own network rules, so one server can’t reach anything it shouldn’t. You won’t see any of that — and that’s the point. It just runs, and it stays running.

When a server crashes, the bot tells you in the channel and gives you a one-click Restart button. No SSH, no support ticket, no guessing.

More Affordable: Pay Only While You Play

This is the big one. We moved to tokens — simple, transparent, pay-as-you-go.

  • 1 token = $0.01. That’s the whole pricing model. Everything else is just multiplication.
  • Servers start at $0.03/hour (3 tokens/hour for the base size). Bigger servers cost more per hour; you see the exact rate before you launch.
  • No subscription. No monthly fee. You buy tokens when you want them.
  • The clock only runs while the server is on. Stop it, and billing stops. Your world stays saved for a few cents a month.
  • Unused tokens never expire. Buy $5 worth, use them over a year if that’s your pace.

Want to keep a server on a leash? Schedule it. Set start and stop windows and it runs on autopilot — online for your weekly scrim, off (and free) the rest of the week.

A Dashboard, Not Just a Bot

SLASHPLAY started as a Discord bot, and it still is one. But V2 adds a full web dashboard at slashplay.gg/dashboard — sign in with Discord and you get the bigger picture: every server you own, live status, your token balance, billing history, and deeper settings than a chat message can hold.

Discord for the quick stuff, the dashboard for everything else. They’re the same account, always in sync.

Teams and Shared Wallets

You don’t game alone, so your servers and your tokens shouldn’t be locked to one person either.

V2 introduces teams. Create one, invite your people, and fund a shared team wallet that anyone on the team can spend to launch servers. There’s a personal wallet for you and a team wallet for the squad — pick which one you’re playing on. No more one person footing the bill for everyone’s game night.

Redeem Codes

We added redeem codes — top up a balance with a code instead of a card. Generate one as a gift, hand it to a friend, or reserve a code for one specific person so only they can claim it. Good for giveaways, prizes, and “thanks for running the server last week.”

More Games

CS2 has always been home base, and it’s better than ever. With V2, Minecraft (Java — Vanilla and Paper, with persistent saves) joins it as a fully supported game.

Beyond those two, we’re actively testing Rust, Valheim, Palworld, Garry’s Mod, and Team Fortress 2 and rolling them out as they’re ready. We’d rather ship a game that works than a long list that doesn’t — check the Games page for what’s live right now.

The Bot Got an Upgrade Too

If you live in Discord, V2’s bot is a noticeable step up:

  • Cleaner cards for servers, balances, and player joins — built on Discord’s newest components.
  • Live console (RCON) straight from a slash command.
  • A batched player-join feed so a full lobby doesn’t spam your channel.
  • CS2 admin tools — approve, ban, or dismiss players from a single card.
  • Crash alerts with a Restart button, so recovery is one tap.

More Honest

We said we’d be clear about what you’re paying for and why. So: you pay $0.01 per token, your server’s hourly rate is shown before you start it, the meter only moves while you’re playing, and what you don’t use, you keep. That’s it. No tiers designed to confuse you, no “unlimited” plan with an asterisk, no surprise renewal.

If something costs money, the dashboard tells you before it charges you.

How to Jump In

  1. Already use SLASHPLAY? Just keep using /play. Then visit the dashboard and sign in with Discord to see your servers, wallet, and teams in one place.
  2. New here? Add the bot or join our Discord to try it, then type /play.
  3. Questions, bugs, requests? Our Discord community is the fastest way to reach us. We read everything.

To everyone who stuck around through the rebuild, told a friend, or just kept playing while we worked — this is the version we wanted to hand you all along. Thanks for being patient.

See you in-game.
