How to turn on server logs in CS 1.6
Type log on in the server console and the server writes kills, chat and round results to the logs folder. log off stops it.
log
Turns server logging on or off, or shows whether it is on.
log [on|off] Examples
log on Start writing logs.
log off Stop writing logs.
Arguments
on|offOptional- Start or stop logging. Leave it out to see the current state.
What it does
Starts or stops writing game logs: kills, chat, connections, round results and so on. Log files go into the folder set by logsdir, usually cstrike/logs. Logging must be on for logaddress_add to stream logs to stats tools. Run log on its own to see the current state.
Good to know
- Put
log onin server.cfg so logging survives a restart. - A new log file starts on every map change unless
sv_log_onefileis 1.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS 1.6 server first.
