How to enable the console in CS 1.6
Type console 1 in your game console, or turn on the console option in the game settings, then open it with the tilde key.

What it does
On a game client, console 1 turns on the developer console so players can open it with the tilde key. It is stored in the player's config.cfg and is the same switch as the console option in the game settings. A dedicated server always has its console and ignores this value.
Good to know
- Players can also start the game with the -console launch option.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS 1.6 server first.
