How to set a world border in Minecraft

Type /worldborder set 2000 in chat as an operator for a border 2000 blocks wide, and /worldborder center 0 0 to center it on 0 0.

worldborder

Sets the size, center and damage of the world border, and can grow or shrink it over time.

/worldborder <set|add> <distance> [<time>]

Examples

/worldborder set 2000

Limits the world to 1000 blocks from the center.

/worldborder center 0 0

Centers the border on 0, 0.

/worldborder set 200 600s

Shrinks the border to 200 over ten minutes.

Arguments

distanceRequired
Border width in blocks, or the amount to add for add.
timeOptional
How long the resize takes: ticks, or a value with s or d.

What it does

The distance is the border's full width (diameter), not its radius, so set 2000 gives 1000 blocks in each direction from the center. Add a time to set or add to resize gradually; in 26.x the time uses game time units, so a plain number is ticks and 600s is ten minutes. damage and warning control what happens near and outside the border.

Good to know

  • Needs operator permission level 2.
  • Other forms: center <x z>, damage amount, damage buffer, warning distance, warning time and get.

Run it on your server
