How to set the world spawn in Minecraft
Stand where you want it and type /setworldspawn in chat as an operator, or give coordinates like /setworldspawn 0 70 0.
setworldspawn
Sets the world spawn point, where new players appear and where players without a bed respawn.
/setworldspawn [<pos>] [<rotation>] Examples
/setworldspawn Sets the world spawn where you stand.
/setworldspawn 0 70 0 Sets spawn at 0, 70, 0.
/setworldspawn 0 70 0 180 0 Same spot, with players facing north.
Arguments
posOptional- Block coordinates. Defaults to your position.
rotationOptional- Yaw and pitch players face on spawn.
What it does
With no arguments it uses your current position. The optional rotation sets the direction players face when they spawn. The respawn_radius game rule spreads spawns around this point, and spawn-protection in server.properties protects the area around it from non-operators.
Good to know
- Needs operator permission level 2.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab without the leading slash; in game, operators type it in chat with the slash. New to this? Start a Minecraft server first.
