How to copy and paste a build in Minecraft
Type /clone 0 64 0 10 70 10 100 64 100 in chat as an operator to copy the box between the first two corners to the third position.
clone
Copies a box of blocks to another place, with options to skip air, filter blocks, move and copy across dimensions.
/clone [from <sourceDimension>] <begin> <end> [to <targetDimension>] <destination> [replace|masked|filtered <filter>] [force|move|normal] Examples
/clone 0 64 0 10 70 10 100 64 100 Copies a build to 100, 64, 100.
/clone ~-5 ~ ~-5 ~5 ~10 ~5 ~20 ~ ~-5 masked Copies without overwriting with air.
/clone from minecraft:overworld 0 64 0 10 70 10 to minecraft:the_nether 0 64 0 Copies a build into the Nether.
Arguments
beginRequired- First corner of the source area.
endRequired- Opposite corner of the source area.
destinationRequired- Lower north-west corner of the target area.
maskModeOptionalreplace(default),maskedorfiltered <block>.cloneModeOptionalnormal(default),forceormove.
What it does
begin and end are opposite corners of the source; destination is where the lowest north-west corner of the copy goes. masked skips air, filtered <block> copies only one block type, move leaves air behind, and force allows the source and destination to overlap. Use from <dimension> and to <dimension> to copy between dimensions. The size limit comes from max_block_modifications.
Good to know
- Needs operator permission level 2.
- Add
strictafter the destination to place blocks without block updates.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab without the leading slash; in game, operators type it in chat with the slash. New to this? Start a Minecraft server first.
