How to change the world on a Minecraft server
Set level-name=survival2 in server.properties and restart the server. It loads the world folder with that name, or creates it if it does not exist.
level-name
Sets the name of the world folder the server loads.
level-name=<folder> Examples
level-name=world Default world folder.
level-name=survival2 Start or load a different world.
Arguments
folderRequired- The value to write after the equals sign.
On SLASHPLAY
Keep it at world on SLASHPLAY: only the world, world_nether and world_the_end folders are saved. See server.properties on SLASHPLAY.
What it does
The server loads the world from this folder, or creates it if it does not exist. Change it to switch between worlds or start a new one without deleting the old folder.
Good to know
- Changes take effect after a server restart.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab without the leading slash; in game, operators type it in chat with the slash. New to this? Start a Minecraft server first.
