How to make a custom superflat server in Minecraft

Set level-type=minecraft:flat and generator-settings={"layers":[{"block":"minecraft:stone","height":10}],"biome":"minecraft:plains"} in server.properties, then make a new world.

generator-settings

Sets custom world generation options as JSON, used for superflat worlds.

generator-settings=<json>

Examples

generator-settings={"layers":[{"block":"minecraft:bedrock","height":1},{"block":"minecraft:grass_block","height":1}],"biome":"minecraft:plains"}

A thin flat world.

Arguments

jsonRequired
The value to write after the equals sign.

What it does

For a minecraft:flat world this JSON defines the layers, biome and structures. It is only read when the world is first created.

Good to know

  • Only used when a new world is generated.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab without the leading slash; in game, operators type it in chat with the slash. New to this? Start a Minecraft server first.
