How to view the MOTD in CS 1.6
Type motd in the server console to print the message of the day that players see when they join.

What it does
Shows the text that players see in the message of the day window when they join, read from the file named by motdfile, usually motd.txt. Use it to check the current MOTD without opening the file.

- The MOTD file can be plain text or HTML.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS 1.6 server first.
