How to set the map rotation in CS 1.6
Type mapcyclefile mapcycle.txt in the server console and list your maps in that file, one per line without .bsp. The server plays them in order.
mapcyclefile
File that lists the maps the server rotates through, one per line.
mapcyclefile <filename> Examples
mapcyclefile mapcycle.txt The default file.
mapcyclefile mapcycle_competitive.txt Switch to a different rotation.
Arguments
filenameRequired- Map cycle file relative to the cstrike folder.
What it does
When a map ends by time limit, round limit or win limit, the server loads the next map from this file. List one map name per line without the .bsp extension. Maps that are not installed on the server are skipped.
Good to know
- The server rereads the file when it changes, so edits apply from the next map change.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS 1.6 server first.
