host_framerate

Forces every frame to advance game time by a fixed number of seconds. 0 uses real time.

host_framerate <seconds>

Examples

host_framerate 0

Normal, real time play.

Arguments

secondsRequired
Game time per frame in seconds. 0 is off.

What it does

When above 0, each engine frame moves the game clock forward by exactly this many seconds, no matter how much real time passed. That is useful for recording smooth demos and videos, but on a live server it speeds up or slows down the whole game. Keep it at 0 on servers people play on.

Good to know

  • A value like 0.01 means 100 game frames per second of game time, regardless of real speed.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS 1.6 server first.
