How to give yourself XP in Minecraft

Type /xp add @p 30 levels in chat as an operator to give yourself 30 levels. Use points instead of levels for raw experience points.

xp

Adds, sets or shows experience points or levels for players, as the short alias of /experience.

/xp <add|set|query> <targets> [<amount>] [levels|points]

Examples

/xp add @p 10 levels

Gives the nearest player 10 levels.

/xp add Steve -5 levels

Removes 5 levels from Steve.

Arguments

add|set|queryRequired
Change, overwrite or read the experience.
targetsRequired
Player name or selector.
amountOptional
Number of points or levels.
levels|pointsOptional
Unit to use. Defaults to points.

What it does

xp redirects to experience, so every form works the same: add, set and query, measured in points by default or in levels. A negative amount with add takes experience away.

Good to know

  • Needs operator permission level 2.
  • Alias of experience.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab without the leading slash; in game, operators type it in chat with the slash. New to this? Start a Minecraft server first.
