How to teleport to a player in Minecraft

Type /teleport Steve Alex in chat as an operator to move Steve to Alex, or /teleport Alex to go to Alex yourself.

teleport

Moves players or entities to coordinates or to another entity, optionally setting where they face.

/teleport [<targets>] <location|destination> [<rotation>|facing <location>|facing entity <entity>]

Examples

/tp @s 0 64 0

Teleports yourself to 0, 64, 0.

/teleport Steve Alex

Moves Steve to Alex.

/execute in minecraft:the_nether run tp Steve 0 100 0

Sends Steve to the Nether.

Arguments

targetsOptional
Players or entities to move. Defaults to yourself.
locationRequired
x y z coordinates, absolute or relative.
destinationRequired
An entity to teleport to, instead of coordinates.
rotationOptional
Yaw and pitch to face after teleporting.

What it does

With one argument it moves you, with two it moves the targets. Coordinates can be absolute, relative with ~, or local with ^, and you can add a rotation or facing to set the view direction. It only moves targets within the current dimension; to cross dimensions, wrap it in execute in.

Good to know

  • Needs operator permission level 2.
  • tp is an alias of this command.
  • In the server console you must name the targets, for example tp Steve 0 64 0.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab without the leading slash; in game, operators type it in chat with the slash. New to this? Start a Minecraft server first.
