How to stop vines spreading in Minecraft

Run /gamerule spread_vines false and vines no longer grow onto nearby blocks.

Controls whether vines spread to nearby blocks over time.

/gamerule spread_vines <true|false>

Arguments

true|falseOptional
true turns the rule on, false turns it off. Leave it out to show the current value.

What it does

With false, vines stay the length they were placed and no longer grow across walls or down. Builders turn it off to keep decorative vines tidy.
