How to turn off death messages in Minecraft

Run /gamerule show_death_messages false and death messages no longer show in chat.

show_death_messages

/gamerule show_death_messages <true|false>

Arguments

true|falseOptional: true turns the rule on, false turns it off. Leave it out to show the current value.

When false, messages like "Steve fell from a high place" are no longer posted.
