How to keep inventory in Minecraft

Run /gamerule keep_inventory true and players keep their items and experience when they die.

Arguments

true|falseOptional
true turns the rule on, false turns it off. Leave it out to show the current value.

What it does

With true, players respawn with their full inventory and experience instead of dropping them where they died. It is one of the most changed rules on survival servers, especially for casual or modded play. It applies to every player in the world.

Good to know

  • Players also keep their experience levels while it is on.
