How to block proxy connections on a Minecraft server

Set prevent-proxy-connections=true in server.properties and restart the server. Players whose IP differs from their Mojang login IP are refused.

Controls whether players are refused when their IP does not match the one they used to log in to Mojang.

What it does

When true, players connecting through a VPN or proxy that differs from their authentication IP are kicked. It only works with online-mode on.

Good to know

  • Changes take effect after a server restart.
