How to change the chat spam limit in Minecraft

Set chat-spam-threshold-seconds=10 in server.properties and restart the server. It is the window, in seconds, the spam check uses before kicking for fast chat.

Sets the time window, in seconds, the chat spam check uses before kicking players for sending messages too fast.

What it does

Tunes the built-in chat spam check that disconnects players who send messages too quickly. Leave it at the default unless legitimate players are being kicked for spam.

  • Changes take effect after a server restart.
