How to change op permission level in Minecraft
Set op-permission-level=2 in server.properties and restart the server. New ops get level 2: cheat commands, but not ban, op or stop.
op-permission-level
Sets the default permission level given to players made operator with /op.
op-permission-level=<value> Examples
op-permission-level=4 Full access, the default.
op-permission-level=2 Ops can use game commands but not ban or stop.
Arguments
valueRequired- The value to write after the equals sign.
What it does
Level 4 gives full access including /stop, level 3 adds player management like /ban and /op, level 2 allows most cheat and world commands, and level 1 only bypasses spawn protection.
Good to know
- Changes take effect after a server restart.
- Individual levels can be edited in
ops.json.
