How to stop fire spreading in Minecraft

Run /gamerule fire_spread_radius_around_player 0 and fire no longer spreads or burns blocks anywhere. The default reach is 128 blocks around a player.

fire_spread_radius_around_player

Sets how close to a player, in blocks, fire can spread and burn blocks.

/gamerule fire_spread_radius_around_player <value>

/gamerule fire_spread_radius_around_player 0

Stop fire from spreading.

/gamerule fire_spread_radius_around_player 32

Fire spreads only close to players.

Arguments

valueOptional
Distance in blocks around players where fire can spread. Leave it out to show the current value.

What it does

Fire only spreads and burns out blocks within this distance of a player. Lower it to protect builds from fire spreading far away, or set it to 0 so fire no longer spreads anywhere, which is a common setting on build and creative servers.
