How to change round time on hostage maps in CS2

Type mp_roundtime_hostage 2 in the server console for 2 minute rounds on hostage maps such as Office; 0 falls back to mp_roundtime.

mp_roundtime_hostage

Sets how many minutes each round lasts on hostage rescue maps such as Office or Italy.

mp_roundtime_hostage <minutes>

Examples

mp_roundtime_hostage 2

Two minute rounds on hostage maps.

mp_roundtime_hostage 0

Use the general mp_roundtime value instead.

Arguments

minutesRequired
Round length in minutes on hostage maps. 0 means use mp_roundtime.

What it does

Works like mp_roundtime_defuse but for hostage maps (cs_ prefix). When it is 0 the game uses mp_roundtime. CTs also gain extra time when they reach a hostage, controlled by mp_hostages_rescuetime.

The game's own description: How many minutes each round of Hostage Rescue takes. If 0 then use mp_roundtime instead.

Good to know

  • Competitive mode sets it to 1.92 (1:55).

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to game/csgo/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS2 server first.
