How to change max rounds in CS2

Type mp_maxrounds 24 in the server console for a 24 round match; it ends once that many rounds are played.

mp_maxrounds

Sets the maximum number of rounds in a match before it ends.

mp_maxrounds <rounds>

Examples

mp_maxrounds 24

MR12, the current competitive format: first to 13 wins.

mp_maxrounds 30

MR15, the older CS:GO format.

mp_maxrounds 16

Shorter matches, wingman style.

Arguments

roundsRequired
Total number of rounds. 0 means no round limit.

What it does

When this many rounds have been played the match is over and the server moves on to the end of match screen and the next map. With mp_halftime 1 teams switch sides after half of these rounds. A team can win early once it has more than half the rounds if mp_match_can_clinch is on.

The game's own description: max number of rounds to play before server changes maps

Good to know

  • Competitive mode sets it to 24.
  • Use an even number so both halves are the same length.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to game/csgo/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS2 server first.
