How to let late joiners spawn in CS2

Type mp_join_grace_time 20 in the server console so players who join within 20 seconds of round start still spawn that round.

mp_join_grace_time

Sets how many seconds after round start a joining player still spawns in that round.

mp_join_grace_time <seconds>

Examples

mp_join_grace_time 0

Late joiners always wait for the next round.

mp_join_grace_time 20

Let players spawn up to 20 seconds into a round.

Arguments

secondsRequired
Grace period after round start. 0 disables it.

What it does

A player who joins a team within this window spawns immediately instead of waiting for the next round. Competitive mode turns it off so late joiners cannot drop into a live round.

The game's own description: Number of seconds after round start to allow a player to join a game

Good to know

  • Competitive mode sets it to 0.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to game/csgo/cfg/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS2 server first.
