How to save IP bans in CS 1.6
Type writeip in the server console after addip or removeip to save permanent IP bans to listip.cfg so they survive a restart.
writeip
Saves permanent IP bans to listip.cfg.
writeip Examples
writeip Save the IP ban list.
addip 0 203.0.113.45; writeip Ban an address and save.
What it does
Writes the IP filter list from memory to listip.cfg in the cstrike folder. Run it after addip or removeip so the change survives a restart. Only permanent bans (0 minutes) are written.
Good to know
- listip.cfg must be run at startup, usually by
exec listip.cfgin server.cfg, to load the bans.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS 1.6 server first.
