How to check the server version in CS 1.6
Type version in the server console to see the protocol version, game version and build number the server runs.

What it does
Shows which engine and game build the server is running. Use it to check that the server is up to date or to compare with a client that cannot connect because of a version mismatch.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS 1.6 server first.
