How to check the engine build of a CS 1.6 server
Type sv_version in the server console to see the engine version, protocol and build number, such as 1.1.2.7/Stdio,48,8684.
sv_version
Read-only engine version string: engine version, protocol and build number.
sv_version Examples
sv_version Print the engine version string.
What it does
Type it to see which engine build the server runs, for example 1.1.2.7/Stdio,48,8684, where 48 is the network protocol and 8684 the build. Useful when checking whether the server is up to date or when a plugin needs a specific build. Setting it changes nothing.

- The
versioncommand prints more detail.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS 1.6 server first.
