How to change stop speed in CS 1.6
Type sv_stopspeed 75 in the server console to set the speed below which players stop sharply. 75 is the default.
sv_stopspeed
Speed below which friction brings a player to a full stop faster.
sv_stopspeed <value> Examples
sv_stopspeed 75 Counter-Strike default.
Arguments
valueRequired- Speed in units per second.
What it does
When a player slows below this speed, friction is applied as if they were moving at this speed, so they stop sharply instead of drifting. The Counter-Strike default is 75. It is part of what makes counter-strafing feel the way it does, so competitive servers leave it alone.
Good to know
- Changes are announced to players in chat because the cvar has the server-notify flag.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS 1.6 server first.
