How to change friction in CS 1.6
Type sv_friction 1 in the server console for slippery, ice-like movement. The default 4 is normal friction.
sv_friction
Sets ground friction, how quickly players slow down when they stop moving.
sv_friction <value> Examples
sv_friction 4 Standard friction.
sv_friction 1 Slippery movement for a fun round.
Arguments
valueRequired- Friction factor. 4 is the default.
What it does
Higher values make players stop sooner, lower values make them slide. The Counter-Strike default is 4. Lowering it a lot gives an ice-rink feel used on some fun maps. Maps can set their own friction on specific surfaces regardless of this value.
Good to know
- Changes are announced to players in chat because the cvar has the server-notify flag.
Run it on your server
On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab of the server page; the reply shows right under it. A value set there lasts until the server restarts. To keep it, add the line to cstrike/server.cfg. New to this? Start a CS 1.6 server first.
