How to save Valheim server logs to a file

Add -logFile /home/steam/valheim/log.txt to the server's launch options, and the server writes its log to that file.

-logFile

Sets the file path where the server writes its log.

-logFile <path>

Examples

-logFile /home/steam/valheim/log.txt

Linux log path.

-logFile "D:\log.txt"

Windows log path.

Arguments

pathRequired: Path to the log file.

What it does

Write the log to a known file so you can read it later, for example to find Platform User IDs for the access lists or to debug a crash.

Good to know

Add it to the server start line in start_server.sh (Linux) or start_headless_server.bat (Windows); it applies on the next server start.
