How to change backup frequency in Valheim

Add -backuplong 86400 to the server's launch options, and after the first backup the server makes one every 24 hours. The default is 43200 (12 hours).

-backuplong

Sets the interval between the later automatic backups, in seconds. The default is 43200 (12 hours).

-backuplong <seconds>

Arguments

secondsRequired: Seconds between the later backups.

What it does

Controls how far back the older backups reach. With -backups 4 and the default, you can roll back up to about a day and a half.

Good to know

Add it to the server start line in start_server.sh (Linux) or start_headless_server.bat (Windows); it applies on the next server start.
