How to customise map generation in Rust
Add +world.configstring "<config>" to the server's launch options to pass a world generation config string straight to the procedural map generator.
world.configstring
Passes a world generation config string straight to the procedural map generator.
+world.configstring "<config>" Examples
+world.configstring "<config>" Replace <config> with your generator config.
Arguments
configRequired- Generator config text.
What it does
An advanced option for tuning procedural generation. When set, it overrides the generator config file from world.configfile. Set it before the map is generated.
The game's own description: World generation config string passed directly to the procedural map generator; overrides the config file if set
Good to know
- Only affects newly generated maps.
Run it on your server
Type it in the server console or send it over RCON; admins can also use the F1 console in game. To keep a setting, run server.writecfg after changing it, or put it on the launch line as +name value.
