How to back up a Rust server
Type server.backup in the server console to copy the server's identity folder, with its saves and config, as a backup.

What it does
Creates a backup of the server folder, including saves and config. Run server.save first so the backup contains the latest world state. Keep backups off the server too if the data matters to you.

- Large maps with many entities produce large backups.
Run it on your server
Type it in the server console or send it over RCON; admins can also use the F1 console in game. To keep a setting, run server.writecfg after changing it, or put it on the launch line as +name value.
