How to change the auto save interval in Rust
Type server.saveinterval 300 in the server console so the world saves every 5 minutes. Default is 600 seconds.
server.saveinterval
Sets how often, in seconds, the server automatically saves the world to disk.
server.saveinterval <seconds> Examples
server.saveinterval 300 Save every 5 minutes.
server.saveinterval 600 Back to the default 10 minutes.
Arguments
secondsRequired- Time between autosaves.
What it does
Each autosave writes the map state to the save file, so a crash loses at most this much progress. Saves on busy or large maps can cause a short hitch, which is why very short intervals are rarely used. The default in this build is 600 seconds (10 minutes).
The game's own description: How often (in seconds) the server automatically saves the game world to disk; default is every 600 seconds (10 minutes)
Good to know
- Use
server.savefor an immediate save, for example before a restart.
Run it on your server
Type it in the server console or send it over RCON; admins can also use the F1 console in game. To keep a setting, run server.writecfg after changing it, or put it on the launch line as +name value.
