How to turn off decay in Rust

Type decay.scale 0 in the server console to turn decay off. decay.scale 0.5 halves decay damage and 1 is normal.

decay.scale

Scales all decay damage: 1 is normal, 2 doubles it, 0 turns decay off.

decay.scale <multiplier>

Examples

decay.scale 0

Turn decay off.

decay.scale 0.5

Half-speed decay.

Arguments

multiplierRequired
1 = normal, 0 = no decay.

What it does

A single knob for how fast unprotected structures and deployables lose health. Setting it to 0 stops decay entirely, which suits build and PvE servers but lets abandoned bases pile up and cost performance.

The game's own description: Multiplier applied to all decay damage per tick; 1.0 = normal, 2.0 = double decay rate, 0.0 = no decay

Run it on your server

Type it in the server console or send it over RCON; admins can also use the F1 console in game. To keep a setting, run server.writecfg after changing it, or put it on the launch line as +name value.
