How to make TNT destroy some drops in Minecraft

Run /gamerule tnt_explosion_drop_decay true and some blocks blown up by TNT are destroyed instead of dropping, like with creepers.

tnt_explosion_drop_decay

Controls whether some blocks blown up by TNT are destroyed instead of dropping.

/gamerule tnt_explosion_drop_decay <true|false>

Examples

/gamerule tnt_explosion_drop_decay true

TNT destroys part of what it breaks.

Values

ValueWhat it does
true On
falseDefault Off

Arguments

true|falseOptional
true turns the rule on, false turns it off. Leave it out to show the current value.

What it does

With false, every block destroyed by TNT drops as an item, which is what tunnel boring and TNT mining setups want. Set it to true so part of the blocks are lost, as with other explosions.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab without the leading slash; in game, operators type it in chat with the slash. New to this? Start a Minecraft server first.
