How to stop blocks dropping items in Minecraft

Run /gamerule block_drops false and broken blocks no longer drop items. Set it to true to get drops back.

block_drops

Controls whether broken blocks drop items.

/gamerule block_drops <true|false>

Breaking blocks drops nothing.

Arguments

true|falseOptional
true turns the rule on, false turns it off. Leave it out to show the current value.

What it does

When false, mining or breaking blocks gives no item. Map makers use it to stop players collecting blocks in adventure and minigame maps.
