How to change entity distance on a Minecraft server

Set entity-broadcast-range-percentage=75 in server.properties and restart the server. Entities are sent to players from 75% of the normal distance.

entity-broadcast-range-percentage

Sets how far away entities are sent to players, as a percentage of the default distance.

entity-broadcast-range-percentage=<value>

Examples

entity-broadcast-range-percentage=75

Send entities a bit less far.

Arguments

valueRequired
The value to write after the equals sign.

What it does

Lower values mean players only see mobs and other entities closer to them, which saves bandwidth and client performance on busy servers. Higher values let players see entities from further away.

Good to know
