How to enable or disable a data pack in Minecraft

Type datapack list in the server console to see your packs, then datapack disable "file/mypack.zip" or datapack enable to switch one.

datapack

Lists, enables and disables data packs on the world, and controls their load order.

/datapack <list [available|enabled]|enable <name> [first|last|before <existing>|after <existing>]|disable <name>|create <id> <description>>

Examples

/datapack list

Shows enabled and available packs.

/datapack disable "file/mypack.zip"

Turns a pack off.

/datapack enable "file/mypack" last

Turns a pack on with top priority.

Arguments

nameOptional
Pack name as shown by datapack list.
positionOptional
first, last, before <pack> or after <pack>.

What it does

Data packs live in the world's datapacks folder. list shows enabled and available packs, enable and disable toggle them and reload data, and first, last, before and after set priority: packs loaded later override earlier ones. Pack names that contain a slash, like file/mypack.zip, need quotes.

Good to know

  • Needs operator permission level 2.
  • datapack create makes a new empty pack and needs permission level 4.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab without the leading slash; in game, operators type it in chat with the slash. New to this? Start a Minecraft server first.
