How to reload data packs in Minecraft

Type reload in the server console, or /reload in chat as an operator, to load data pack changes without restarting the server.

reload

Loads changes to all data packs, including functions, loot tables, recipes and advancements, without a restart.

/reload

Examples

/reload

Reloads data packs.

reload

From the server console, without the slash.

What it does

Use it after adding or editing data pack files. It does not reload server.properties or the world itself. If the new data fails to load, the server keeps the previous data and logs the errors.

Good to know

  • Needs operator permission level 2.

Run it on your server

On a SLASHPLAY server, type it in the Console tab without the leading slash; in game, operators type it in chat with the slash. New to this? Start a Minecraft server first.
